Pets 1^st is an independently owned and operated pet products retail business specializing in natural foods, treats, supplements, and solution products for dogs, cats, and small fuzzies. Our vision is to promote total health from teeth to tail by providing products which contain the highest quality ingredients. We are the "go-to" for pet issues and have many successes in alleviating common issues affecting our beloved pets. We are committed to customer service.

We currently operate stores in Evansville and Newburgh, Indiana.  We are in need of a trustworthy, part-time associate who desires to be more than just a retail store clerk.  As a Pets 1^st associate, you will understand our products, their purposes, and why we do not carry some products.  You will work with pet owners to understand any current issues or problems and recommend products or actions based upon your product knowledge. Interested candidates must be willing to support both the Evansville and Newburgh locations.

Requirements:

• High customer support standards backed with good listening abilities, note taking, and followup skills
• Learn and promote the Pets 1^st health and wellness principles
• Become knowledgeable about the the attributes and uses of the brands and formulations we support
• Make reasonable recommendations based on customer interaction and knowledge of the products we support
• Must openly and continually collaborate with other Pets 1^st associates to validate product knowledge and recommendations
• Must be available to work both Evansville and Newburgh stores
• Flexibility to work rotating schedules including full days, partial days, weekends, holidays, expositions, or remote locations
• Computer application skills such as spreadsheets and formatted documents
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills
• Research and investigation capabilities: capturing pros, cons, and uses of products; ingredients, manufacturing processes, or other decision support data

General Retail Duties:

• Utilize Microsoft Dynamics RMS POS and Store Operation Manager to perform the following:
  • Sales transactions
  • Enter/maintain customer information
  • Register openings and closings
  • Reconcile daily receipts with reports
  • Physical inventory
  • Inter-store transfers
  • Receive shipments

Desired Skills:

• Experience in the wellness field
• Experience in a veterinary or pet behavioral setting
• Experience with product procurement in a multi-facility setting
